Therapeutic Linocuts

Today started off supposedly as a busy day for an art student but it didn't turn out quite as plan. Had time management problems with my 3D tutor, hence, was not able to cut our wood for our 3D sculpture today. But hope Monday will come and fix this mess up.

So today began with fetching pohning in the morning and off we went to school. We did linocuts today in my hall :D It was strangely therapeutic and de-stressing.
It's a story about a magpie who steal things. Before you say, lame, it's for children so I hope I justify our choice of story. Haha.
So first we draw out our illustrations on the lino pad (the blue mat)...

And then, we cut them up using scrapers. I don't have a picture of them but this is what they will do to the mat...
TADA!

We got our inspiration for our illustration from this dude. You can check his blog out here: http://mattdawsonblog.blogspot.com/
Awfully talented with awesome illustrations! Fantastic.
And here's my very own illustration. HAHA. My final picture for Foundation Drawing class. Hope it gets me a decent grade :D
